Family and property

Most girls freak to the idea of joint family (i.e. with parents of the guys). They don't even want to try out on how it is to live with them, and the first condition itself is to stay in an independent house. I agree that in Indian culture, a bride leaves her home to settle with the guy, but this seems like reverse psychology asking the guy to leave his parents as well ? Some girls freak at the idea of guy having an 'inherited property' and focus more on 'own property'. Is it because the inherited property is not in an area of their choice in the city?

Ok, don't even tread that area...
you are better off living in your own house without parents - you don't want to get sandwiched between the two imp ladies in your life!

Its better to be afar from parents and have a basic respect and civil behaviour in the family rather than live under the same roof and fight like cats and dogs... If you expect girls to try it, and it doesn't work out, the entire loss is of the guy!

The culture of girl living with guy's parents started when there was child marriage existing in the society... Doesn't work out well given the current scenario... Not that anybody's at fault here, it's just too complicated!

Inherited property usually brings a lot of ppl into the picture, many sharing it. A well breeding ground for family politics. Whereas something bought by you, solely belongs to you and your wife. No nosey relatives showing the new bride 'Who's the boss' :)
